CASSANDRA VAZQUEZ
Cassandra Vazquez began her tennis development in Houston, Texas primarily training at the Houston Tennis Academy. She began competing in state and national USTA tournaments, eventually winning the 18s Texas Grand Slam in singles and doubles and finishing with a fifth place appearance at Hard Court Nationals in San Diego, CA. During this time she also represented Texas in three consecutive USTA Fed Cup tournaments.
In high school she moved to Clearwater, Florida to train at a high performance academy to access full time schooling and coaching. For two years she travelled to 10 different countries across North and South America and Asia to compete in ITF tournaments where she won titles in the Bahamas, Mexico, Uruguay and the Dominican Republic. By 2013 she had competed in several ITF Grade 1 and Grade A tournaments including the Junior US Open in New York.
In 2014 she accepted a full scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to play Division I tennis and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Information Science. Upon graduation, she spent time living and coaching tennis in The Hamptons and New York City and now resides in Houston, Texas.
